DynamiX 2011 Rules



GENERAL RULES

  • All schools must register by 9:00 AM. Schools located out of South Delhi are advised to dispatch their teams well in time.
  • As far as possible, participants are advised to avoid taking part in events with overlapping time slots. If this is unavoidable, participants will not be provided with extra time and neither will events be delayed.
  • Winning schools must be present at the prize distribution ceremony, failing which the overall position will go to the next school in the overall points tally.
  • Event schedule and rules are subject to last minute changes.
  • Please refer to the DynamiX' website www.dynamix.co.in for the latest updates about DynamiX 2011.
  • Participants must be in school uniform.
  • Decisions of the organizers regarding any issue related to DynamiX 2011 will be final and binding on all schools and participants.
  • Participants must take care of their personal belongings. Organizers will not be responsible for any loss or damage.
  • Softwares for some events will be revealed later on our website.

    EVENTS

    Quiz

    Eligibility : Open

    The twists and turns in your brain may generally fail you at the time of need. But you should carefully keep them to yourself when you appear for this event.
    Test your knowledge against the most frustrating questions in the given time.
    The quiz will have trivia, observation based or Knowledge testing questions from the field of IT, Computers and Science fiction.
    The On-stage finals will follow the written prelims where the six qualifying finalists would be grilled mercilessly until we have a winner.

     

    Crossword

    Riddle me; Riddle me, what is that which is black and white, full of small boxes that take a lot of time to fill? - A Crossword!
    This event will test how much knowledge you have gathered in the field of Computers & also your wit, presence of mind and creativity. 6 teams will be short listed for the tricky final.

     

    Programming

    Eligibility : Open

    Software : Turbo C++

    Rack your brain in the gruelling tasks of creating intense programmes and debugging that will strain you outright. Only the finest shall survive!
    Participants will be asked to solve high-end logical/mathematical problems in C++.

     

    Group Discussion

    Eligibility : Open

    Finally there would be some sensible group discussions (NOT shouting matches) around.
    The Topics:
    1. Individual privacy
    2. Cyberspace and safety
    ...WILL NOT BE SELECTED. Topics will be given on the spot. Beware. The topics are mostly technical in nature and clueless participants trying to bluff their way through would not be entertained. Six participants will qualify to the On-stage finals.
       

    Gaming

    Eligibility : Open

    Battle it out for supremacy against the best gamers in the city. Each gamer must be proficient in different genre of game, to be able to win in a fight for victory or defeat.
    Participants can bring their own hardware (gaming mouse and/or headset)

    Digital Imaging

    Eligibility : Open

    Software : GIMP, Photoshop CS3

    They say a picture is worth a thousand words. It is believed that event the Simian man communicated - by means of pictures.
    Let your imagination go wild to design an image par excellence. Participants must use all their creativity and imagination to design an image on the Topic...We won't Give That Away Right Now. Topics will be declared on the spot.

    Video Editing

    Eligibility : Open

    Software : Premiere Pro CS3

    With Video Editing we mean PURE Video Editing. If you think by just putting transitions and effects you can win this, then you better not come for this event.
    Topics shall be provided on the spot. Participants are to bring their own headphones.

    Web D

    Eligibility : Open

    Software : Aptana Studio 3

    Prepare to go through the 1 hour of ultra-mind destruction while recreating the web. Evaluation will be on the basis of overall appeal of the website.
    Theme/Topic shall be announced on-the-spot, and all necessary graphics and textual information shall be provided on the systems.

    Google It Out!
